Exceeding Vacation Balances Limit on ZenHR
How Can You Allow Employees to Exceed Their Vacation Balances Limit on ZenHR
The “Exceed vacation balance limit” feature allows HR admins to define the allowed amount of exceeding vacation balances for employees.
This option allows HR admins to let employees request vacation days that exceed their available balance or end-of-year balance.
To activate this feature, follow the below steps:
User Menu à System Preferences à Leaves and Vacations à Annual vacations
Upon landing on the “Leaves and Vacation” page, navigate to the “Annual Vacation” option and click on “Edit” to activate the “Exceed Vacation Balances Limits” as shown below:
Select “Yes” in the “Exceed available balance” option to activate it and then select the number of vacation days that the employees are allowed to exceed.
The field “Exceed By” will only appear if the option “Exceed available Balances” was activated.
- Exceed Available Balance: The employee is allowed to exceed his/her available balance based on the number of defined days in the “Exceed By” field.
- Exceed end-of-year Balance: The employee is allowed to exceed his/her end-of-year balance.
For example:
If the employee has a 14-day end-of-year balance, with only 1.227 days available as of February 1, and wanted to request 5 days of annual vacation, the HR admin will have to activate the “Exceed by” option and choose “Exceed by 5 days”.
