Assets Module on ZenHR
ZenHR’s Assets Module makes it easy to stay organized and manage all company-owned items, from laptops and phones to office equipment. You can now customize your asset types, link them to specific branches, and track everything in one place.
Add, edit, delete, activate, or deactivate asset types per branch
Add assets and mark their current status
Assign assets to employees and view the full history of each item
Automatically notify employees when an asset is assigned to them; they’ll receive emails to confirm that they’ve received it

Managing Asset Types
User Menu → System Preferences → Administrative Setup → Asset Types
ZenHR now provides a dedicated page for managing asset types per branch. By default, the following asset types are added to all branches:
Laptop
Desktop PC
Mobile
PC Monitor
Admins can:
Edit the name of default asset types
Assign/remove types from specific branches
Activate or deactivate asset types
Users can:
Create custom asset types and assign them to specific branches
Edit, activate, or deactivate these custom types
How to Add New Asset Types
User Menu → System Preferences → Administrative Setup → Asset Types
Click on “Add Asset Type”.
Enter the name (EN/AR).
Select the branches to which you would like to link the asset.
Enable the toggle to activate this asset (to make it available).
Then click “Add Asset Type”.
How to Add New Company Assets
User Menu → System Preferences → Administrative Setup → Company Assets
On the Company Assets page, you can view and manage all company assets, with key details such as:
Asset Name
Type
Serial Number/ Asset ID
Owner
Holder (if assigned)
Expiry Date (if provided)
Status
Actions
Available actions based on the status of the asset:
View Asset Details
View Asset History
Edit Asset
Mark as Damaged
Mark as Under Repair
Archive
Mark as Available
Assign to Employee
Delete Asset
To Add a New Asset:
Click “Add Company Asset”.
Select the asset type from the list
Enter the asset name
Select the owner (Company or Branch)
Add a serial number or a unique asset ID
Optionally, add a description, production/expiry date, notes, and attachments.
After creating the asset, you may immediately assign it to an employee or leave it available for future assignment.
How to Assign Assets to Employees
You can assign an asset in two ways:
From the Company Assets page or from the employee’s Profile.
Go to the employee’s profile and from there click on the Assets Tab.
Then click “Add” and select the asset type and asset you’d like to assign to them.
Enter the assigned date, add notes, a return date, and any attachments.
When an asset is assigned:
The employee receives a notification and an email to confirm that they have received the asset.
The asset status will be “Awaiting Recipient Confirmation” until the employee confirms they have received it.
Once confirmed, the status will be “Allocated”.
