Performance Evaluation Enhancements


In this release, ZenHR introduces improvements to its Performance Evaluation module aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of performance management processes within your organization.


  • "Remove" and “Task Holders” actions are now visible to  the Super admin, Evaluation admin,  and HR admin." 

  • Task holders - the individuals responsible for executing specific actions or tasks - can now be edited on the Evaluation process page.

    • A Task holder can be added to the “Writing OKRs” and “Performance Evaluation” stages.

    • Multiple Task holders can be added to the “Auditing OKRs” and “Auditing Results” stages.

  • Note: 

    • The “Task Holder” and “Remove” buttons will only be visible if the evaluation cycle branch is the current branch.

    • If the current branch (the one you are on) differs from the cycle branch (The branch in which the cycle was created), the cycle is displayed because the current user is a task holder for one or more employees.

    •  If the current user doesn’t have a role, then the options for deleting and assigning task holders will be hidden. 

    • If the cycle branch does not match the current branch, and the cycle is displayed because the current user is a task holder for one or more employees within the cycle and has a role in another branch, then the options for deleting and assigning task holders will be disabled.

    • If no task holder is added in the performance evaluation stage (no result writer), actions in the dropdown list will be removed; only the “Delete,” “Taskholders,” and “View OKRs” will be viewed.

  • For a smoother OKR writing/auditing experience, we have added a button, “Guide to scale levels,” in the OKR writing form. This button allows the writer to see all the scale levels.

Changes to the Evaluation Template

  • Ability to format the results

    • Result Formatting → The evaluation template “Basic Info“ form now has an option for the user to choose the result format they want to use on the results page.

      • The options include:

        • Percentage ( % )

        • Out-of-scale Level

        • Both

      • The “Result Formatting” option will reflect on the Results page, Review page, and Results PDF.

    • Result formatting will apply to self-assessment and final assessment.

    • If the result formatting is “Out of scale Levels” then the auditing will be on the grade out of the level scale, not the “percentage”.

  • Level Scale

    • The levels scale has now been edited to start from zero with no gaps between levels to ensure accurate results. Note that the minimum level is always locked and filled with the previous scale maximum.

    • Scale

      • The starting point of the scale should be Zero, and no gaps between the levels

        • The first field in the scale will be zero by default (Disabled).

        • And no gaps → The minimum will always be locked (Disabled) and filled with the Previous scale maximum).

Results Page

The self-assessment result will be shown on the results page if the “Show Self-assessment“ checkbox is active in the evaluation template.

Adding Employees to the Evaluation Cycle


To add employees to the evaluation cycles, the user should click the “Add Employees” button on the Evaluation Process page. The “Add employees” button will appear to " Super admin", "Evaluation admin", and “HR admin”.


The button will open a pop-up that will ask the user to choose a cycle.



Once you click “Next,” the user will be guided to a “Add Employees” page that will have all the employees in the branch filled by default, and the employees that are already added to the  cycle will have an “Added” label next to them.

The user can use the filters to choose the organizational level they want to add, along with the ability to add the employees they want to include by the “Add” mass action.

An alert message will be added to the evaluation process page to tell the user that a number of employees have not been added to any active cycles. When “Show all” is clicked, the employees will be shown, and after selecting the employees, the user can choose the cycle.
