Approvals Override

The Approval Override feature ensures a smooth and efficient approval process by preventing delays. Designated admins can step in to approve or reject requests on behalf of approvers within approval templates when needed. The Approval Override page offers a centralized view of all override actions, making it easy to track and manage approvals seamlessly.

Set Up Approval Override

To set up the approval override go to User Menu →System Preferences → Administrative Setup → Approvals

When creating or editing an approval template, you’ll now find a new section where you can give admins the authority to override approvals. These admins can approve or reject requests on behalf of the designated approvers in the template. 

To enable this feature, turn on the “Allow admins to override approvals” toggle. 

A list of admins will appear based on the selected transaction type for the approval template. Here, add the desired admins you want to be able to override approvals, then save the template.  

If you want to allow an overrider to override their own requests, check the box “Allow admins selected to self-override their own requests.”

My Approvals Override Page

A new page has been added for requests that you can override. To access it, go to the Users Menu → My Approvals Override.

On this page, you’ll find all the requests you are authorized to override. To view request details and approve or reject on behalf of admins, click “Take Action” beside the desired request.

You’ll find an “Actions” button next to each admin’s name, allowing you to approve or reject requests on their behalf.

After approving or rejecting on behalf of an admin, an indication will appear by the approval cycle, that an overrider has taken action on behalf of the original approver.

The original approver will receive a notification informing them that an action has been taken on their behalf.

Employee Offboarding 

Overriding requests also apply during employee offboarding. Any overrider can approve pending requests during an employee being offboarded to ensure a smooth process and prevent delays.
